Last Tuesday, my first baby girl Selena turned 13. She is officially a teenager. I've been dreading that day for such a long time but now that it's here, I have to say I'm pretty pleased. Selena is an amazing girl and she really has a good head on her shoulders. I feel pretty proud of how I raised her and I'm pretty honoured and happy that Selena thinks of me as one of her best friends but still sees me as her mom and that she can come to me about anything. I know that the next couple of years will be fragile, trying and even a little bit scary. But if this is how we are starting off her teen years, I'm looking forward to watching her grow into a beautiful young woman.
