This past week, my eldest daughter Selena turned 12. On Saturday, which also happened to be our biggest snowfall to date, Selena had her birthday party with her friends from school at the local bowling alley in Markham. With 12 girls invited, we were afraid that not alot of the girls would be able to come because of the weather. Selena decided to call all of her friends in the morning, and surprisingly all of the girls said there were going to attend. So we moved ahead with the party and it was really touching to see all of the girls there for Selena. She received some beautiful letters and cards from her girlfriends. It was really apparent how much Selena's friendship means to them and how much they were going to miss her when she leaves next year. After witnessing the kind of friendship my daughter has with these girls and how much much Selena will miss them, I thought it would be a great idea for her to have a 'Farewell' party with her friends just before we leave. I want Selena to cherish these memories and the friends she has made. I have no doubt in my mind, that these friendships will impact her and she will always hold them close to her heart, no matter the distance.
his way of saying good bye
