On Thursday November 4, 2008, history was made. The United States of America elected their first ever African American president. He inspired hope for many, especially me. He made me realize that change is good, it's meant to move forward. Lately, I've been anxious about moving to the US. The change of somewhere new, without my family and friends, a new life scared me. But after last night listening to Obama's speech, that fear went away. I was comforted knowing that I would be moving my family to this renewed and 'united' country lead by this great man, but I also realized and forgot that I personally know a great man who has already inspired hope for me and my girls. My husband.
So after all the disappointments and all the trials Selena, Rayanne and I had to endure, can we finally believe that we can be happy and be part of a united family without fear? I think the newly elected President said it best, yes we can.
